Our focused group of professionals is composed of top performers from top strategy consulting firms, investment banks, and other internal JPMorgan Chase groups. Projects delivered by the Strategy group include developing international growth strategies, assessing and planning new product and market entry, outlining business deep dives, evaluating strategic investments, improving operational efficiency and effectiveness, defining digital/technology strategy, formulating firm’s acquisitions/ divestitures strategy, enhancing cross business collaboration and identifying strategically significant industry themes/ trends.
As an Asset and Wealth Management Strategy Associate within our Strategy group, you will work across diverse projects, engage in structured problem solving, communicate with senior stakeholders, and track market and competitor strategies. You will also lead initiatives to resolve diverse problems identified by senior leaders at the bank and apply structured problem-solving to address top strategic priorities.
Job Responsibilities:
– Lead initiatives/ projects to resolve diverse problems identified by senior leaders at the bank
– Apply structured problem-solving and design thinking to address top strategic priorities
– Execute creative analyses and provide insight to identify issues and arrive at recommendations
– Gather, synthesize, analyze and present data and findings (e.g., financial modeling, valuation)
– Perform competitor/ industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources
– Develop strategic presentations for both internal and external audiences
– Monitor industry trends and share insightful reports and analyses with broader team and with senior executives
– Create and/or contribute to an environment of collaboration and mutual responsibility
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
– Structured problem solving – Ability to understand and identify issues to define clear problem statements, generate hypotheses, identify and gather relevant data points for detailed analysis to prove/ disprove hypotheses; work in team to identify potential solutions/ recommendations using relevant frameworks
– Storyboarding and communication – Ability to consistently understand the “big picture” and link the key takeaways back to the project narrative; create clear and effective storyline for presenting analyses and recommendations; structure and create presentations to deliver key arguments, messages and insights; communicate efficiently via verbal and written modes with all stakeholders
– Stakeholder engagement – Collaborate proactively with global stakeholders (business partners, strategy team members, senior leaders); lead interviews, workshops, focus group discussions as applicable to drive required project outcomes
– Research and modeling – Ability to source information from internal and external sources, prepare structured models and bring ‘so-what’ from both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
– An outstanding ability to analyze problems and apply quantitative analytical approaches, deep understanding of multiple analytical tools (e.g., pivot tables, graphs, etc.), awareness of available databases and research tool and ability to recognize data issues
– Ability to created structured / logical presentations and clearly communicate key messages using appealing displays and graphics
– Communicate effectively and confidently and work well in cross-functional and cross-regional teams
– Ability to work independently and in a team environment, quickly learn and understand new concepts / businesses with effective prioritization skills to meet project deadlines. Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers
– Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint tools (absolutely required)
– Experience in Consulting/ Wealth Management domain and prior experience in working with senior and global stakeholders will be preferred
– Prefer MBA from tier 1 college with an excellent academic background
