Lead Analyst/Principal Analyst – Asset Backed Strategies (CMBS/CRE Research)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Analyst/Principal Analyst to join our Asset Backed Strategies (ABS) team, focusing on Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS).
Responsibilities:
– Conduct comprehensive research and in-depth analysis of CMBS/CRE loans and bonds
– Develop bespoke financial models and perform data and investment analysis
– Conduct relative value analysis for potential investment opportunities in CMBS
– Generate innovative research ideas related to the sector and collaborate with the trading desk to execute them
– Conduct detailed loan and property analysis of CMBS collateral in both new issue and secondary markets
– Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investments and provide timely recommendations to the desk
Requirements:
– Finance degree (MBA) or equivalent qualification
– At least 5 years of experience in financial research or analysis, with a focus on CMBS or CRE investments
– Ability to generate research ideas and convert them into actionable investment strategies
– Proficiency in financial modeling and market research
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
– CFA designation, or progress towards obtaining the CFA charter
– Experience working with CMBS/CRE investments in the USA market
