Overview
Senior Research / Lead Analyst
– The role involves supporting the equity research team of an asset manager
– Working with the CIO and Portfolio managers at client end and provide highly integrated research support
– Analysing and sharing insights on the sector and companies tracked
– Work on companies across sectors and geographies
– Handle bespoke research tasks, including preparing event updates, analysing IPOs/corporate actions, and maintaining sector databases
– Build and maintain financial models for active and new positions – very strong background in financial modelling is required for the role
– Synthesize sell-side research recommendations and consensus views
– Preparing questions for company management and coordination with sell-side brokers
– Regular interaction with brokers/ company management
– Support in thematic bottom-up research in stock selection as relationship evolves
– Prepare investment notes based on analysis and provide clients with actionable insights
Candidate Profile:
– Prior knowledge of buy-side research mandatory
– Excellent communication skills and client relationship skills
– Strong understanding of finance and accounting concepts
– Attention to detail, ability to stretch and learn, high analytical rigor
– Excellent financial modelling skills
– Good problem-solving skills
– Prior experience in guiding and mentoring junior team members will be advantageous
– MS Excel, MS Office tools, Bloomber
Essential Qualifications:
– MBA (Finance), CA or CFA (US)
– 5+ Years of experience in Buy-Side Equity Research
