Project Finance Analyst- Originator

2 Positions: Delhi & Mumbai

Key Responsibilities:

A) Business Development:

– Actively prospect and cultivate relationships with potential clients, including project sponsors, developers, and advisors, in targeted sectors like infrastructure, renewable energy, and power generation.

– Identify and assess project viability, analyzing market trends, financial projections, and project risks to identify potential opportunities.

– Present project financing solutions to clients, tailoring proposals to their specific needs and financial requirements.

– Drive deals and transactions with both clients and internal stakeholders.

– Engage with various government agencies to track sectors and policies.

B) Deal Structuring:

– Develop comprehensive financial models to evaluate project feasibility, including cash flow projections, debt structuring, and equity requirements.

– Design innovative financing structures, considering various debt instruments like senior loans, mezzanine debt, and contingent financing.

– Negotiate key transaction terms with clients, including interest rates, loan covenants, and project milestones.

C) Credit Analysis and Underwriting:

– Conduct thorough credit analysis of project sponsors, assessing their financial strength, track record, and risk profile.

– Prepare comprehensive credit submissions for internal credit committees, highlighting key risks and mitigation strategies.

– Collaborate with credit risk teams to ensure compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.

– Collaborate with other Lenders in the market for originating secondary deals from them.

D) Transaction Execution:

– Coordinate with legal counsel to draft and negotiate transaction documents, including loan agreements, security documents, and project agreements.

– Manage the due diligence process, overseeing technical, legal, and financial reviews.

– Lead deal teams, including internal stakeholders and external advisors, to ensure smooth transaction execution.

E) Relationship Management:

– Maintain ongoing relationships with key clients and stakeholders, providing post-closing support and managing client expectations.

– Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.

Relevant Experience: 12- 20 years

– Past experience in originating and executing project finance transactions within a banking or financial institution.

– Experience in structuring complex financing deals, including debt and equity components.

– Strong understanding of credit analysis and risk management principles applied to project finance.
