About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Equity Research Analyst/Associates with 3-5 years of sell-side experience to join our dynamic equity research team. The role focuses on the Internet and Telecom sectors, providing in-depth analysis, actionable insights, and investment recommendations to institutional clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial markets, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for uncovering investment opportunities in India’s fast-evolving Internet and Telecom industries. Strong understanding and interest in the new-edge technology and internet sector is a must.
Key Responsibilities :
– Sector Analysis: Conduct detailed research on companies in the Internet (e.g., e-commerce, digital payments, online media etc.) and Telecom sectors, including market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments.
– Financial Modeling: Build and maintain robust financial models to forecast revenue, earnings, and cash flows for covered companies. Perform valuation analyses using DCF, relative valuation, and other methodologies.
– Report Writing: Prepare high-quality research reports, including initiation reports, earnings updates, and thematic research pieces, with clear investment theses and actionable recommendations.
– Client Interaction: Communicate research findings to institutional clients through meetings, calls, and presentations. Respond to client inquiries with timely and accurate insights.
– Earnings Coverage: Analyze quarterly earnings releases, management commentary, and conference calls to provide timely updates on covered companies.
– Data Analysis: Leverage primary and secondary data sources to generate insights, including industry reports, proprietary surveys, and alternative data sets.
– Compliance: Ensure all research outputs adhere to regulatory requirements and internal compliance policies, including SEBI guidelines.
– Experience: 3-5 years of sell-side equity research experience, preferably covering Internet and/or Telecom sectors.
– Education: MBA, CFA, or CA certification is a strong plus.
Technical Skills:
– Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
– Advanced knowledge of Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, or Capital IQ is preferred.
– Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of Internet and Telecom industries in India, including key players, business models, and growth drivers.
– Analytical Skills: Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights. Strong attention to detail and critical thinking.
– Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate research findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
– Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Attributes
– Prior experience working with institutional clients or brokers in a sell-side research capacity.
– Familiarity with India-specific regulatory frameworks impacting Internet and Telecom sectors (e.g., TRAI, data privacy laws).
– Proactive mindset with a demonstrated ability to independently source and analyze industry data.
– Strong reading habits with deep interest in the new-edge technology and internet sectors.
