Roles and Responsibilities
– Work closely with oversight of fund administration
– Monitor and manage service level quality of third party providers such as the custodian, fund administrator, and transfer agent
– Perform necessary daily and monthly checks and controls for the mutual funds
– Provide accounting reports for internal and external clients
– Control post-closing entries and consolidation adjustments.
– Perform various control procedures to ensure the integrity of reported financial results.
– Participate in all aspects of the production of the monthly financial Flash Report.
– Support ad-hoc requests for financial information received from across the firm.
– Coordinate year-end audits with Legg Mason, Auditor, and custodian
– Attend to daily inquiries from internal or external clients on the mutual funds
– Manage and execute instructions on trade orders on behalf of WA funds and clients
– Reconcile cash, futures & options, swaps, net assets, performance, etc. against the custodian, third party administrator, or broker on a daily basis
– Reconcile and process subscriptions and redemptions on the mutual funds and post other transactions on a daily basis; communicate proactively with the investment management team as necessary to ensure accurate cash balances are provided in a timely manner
– Review projected cash balances across multi-currencies and draft recommendations as part of daily cash management process
– Oversee monthly closing of the Funds accounting records including final cash, NAV reconciliations, performance and any custom reporting
– Responsible for working on multiple assignments throughout the year;
– Preparing investment presentations, memorandums that convey complex ideas and investment themes
– Researching company and regulatory landscape for different projects
– Conducting market sizing and mapping through comprehensive industry research
– Preparing comprehensive financial models, analysis, valuations
– Conducts self in a professional manner related to all client communications as well as interaction in team communications and interactions; and
– Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by the Manager.
Requirements:
– Exposure and basic understanding of information memorandum, preparing presentations and financial modelling
– Strong desire to continuously learn
– Excellent quantitative, analytical, written, and presentation skills.
