Senior Credit Analyst
Role Overview:
As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will manage and grow a team of skilled credit analysts, ensuring high-quality, accurate data delivery.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including technology, product, and data science, to enhance our AI capabilities and streamline operational efficiency.
This is a leadership role requiring strong expertise in the credit analysis and a proven ability to manage and mentor teams.
Key Responsibilities:
– Take ultimate responsibility for the quality and accuracy of credit data delivered to clients.
– Collaborate with the tech, product, and data science teams to iteratively improve AI models, turnaround times, and accuracy levels of the Credit Research team.
– Develop a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in creating new taxonomies and processing new types of credit-related documents.
– Hire, train, and manage credit analysts to support operational goals and uphold the highest standards of quality.
Required Experience:
– Middle Market Financial Modeling: Demonstrated experience building and maintaining financial models for middle market companies ($50M $1B+ revenue).
– Capital Structure Analysis: Deep understanding of debt and equity structures, including complex financing arrangements and their impact on financial performance.
– Lease Accounting & Analysis: Expertise in lease accounting standards (ASC 842/IFRS 16) and ability to analyze various lease structures and their financial implications.
Core Technical Skills:
– Financial Statement Analysis: Ability to perform detailed analysis of financial statements, with particular focus on notes to accounts and footnote disclosures.
– Data Adjustment & Normalization: Skilled at identifying and making appropriate adjustments to reported figures based on analysis of accounting notes, one-time items, and non-standard accounting treatments.
– Model Building: Proficiency in creating dynamic, scenario-based financial models with proper documentation and audit trails.
Preferred Qualifications:
CFA Level 1 or higher (strongly preferred) Familiarity with various industry-specific accounting treatments and metrics Advanced Excel/financial modeling software proficiency.
