Lead Associate – Corporate Regulations (ER)
Qualification – Chartered Accountant or B.E. or B. Tech (Electrical, Mechanical)
Position Overview:
– Dealing with Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) and State Regulatory Commissions (SERCs), and other Government Agencies for obtaining favorable orders for the company.
– Review financial model and ARR for tariff Petition filing for approvals.
– Reviewing and finalizing Review Petition /Appeal in consultation with Legal dept/Legal firm for submission before CERC/SERC / APTEL/Supreme Court etc.
– Work closely with business team for successful conversion of opportunities.
– Drive Policy reforms as a thought leader for the benefit of the Company.
– Analyze Tariff Orders, Regulations, Judgments, Concept Papers issued by CERC/SERCs/ATE & assess the impact on Company’s operations.
– Monitor Regulatory Capex & Capitalization, prepare Capex DPRS and obtain approval from CERC/SERCs.
– Resolve various issues raised by respective divisions through clarification/opinion/notes/petitions. Managing and developing the members of regulatory team.
Skills:
– Knowledge of Tariff Determination Process: Understanding the methodology and factors involved in setting electricity tariffs, ensuring fairness and compliance with regulatory standards.
– Awareness of Tariff Regulations: Staying informed about the laws, guidelines, and policies governing electricity tariffs to ensure adherence and regulatory compliance.
– Knowledge of Electricity Laws: Familiarity with the legal framework governing the generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption of electricity within the jurisdiction.
– Hands on experience in Power / Infrastructure sector on all regulatory matters with good knowledge of electricity laws.
