Job Title: Associate Vice President (AVP) – Accounts Payable

Role Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned finance leader to head our Accounts Payable function at the enterprise level. The AVP – Accounts Payable will play a pivotal role in shaping the AP strategy, strengthening governance and compliance, driving automation and efficiency, and ensuring strong vendor partnerships that align with the organization’s financial goals. This role demands a proven leader with deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence and collaborate at the senior-most levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide strategic leadership for the Accounts Payable function, aligning processes and policies with the organization’s financial and business objectives.
– Partner with the CFO and leadership team to drive working capital optimization, cash flow management, and cost efficiency initiatives.
– Oversee and govern end-to-end AP operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of payments at scale.
– Drive digital transformation and process excellence by leveraging automation, analytics, and best-in-class AP practices.
– Establish and strengthen governance frameworks, internal controls, and compliance mechanisms in line with regulatory and audit requirements.
– Build and sustain strong vendor and external partner relationships, ensuring strategic alignment and timely resolution of escalations.
– Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of AP professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
– Deliver insightful reports and business intelligence to the CFO and senior management to support data-driven decision-making.
– Represent the AP function in leadership forums, audits, and strategic finance discussions.
Key Requirements:
– Education: CA / MBA Finance / ICWA (mandatory).
– Experience: Minimum 16 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, with at least 8-10 years in leadership roles managing large-scale Accounts Payable or P2P operations.
– Strong track record in financial governance, process transformation, and stakeholder management at the senior level.
– Expertise in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or equivalent) and exposure to automation, RPA, and advanced analytics tools.
– Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage change, and influence cross-functional leadership.
– Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
