Job Overview:
The Director of Capex and Fixed Asset Management will oversee all aspects of capital expenditure, including real estate development, store upgrades, and equipment procurement, as well as maintaining the integrity of the Fixed Asset Register (FAR). This role is critical in ensuring assets are properly tracked, valued, and optimized for maximum return, while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with internal policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead the overall Capex planning, budgeting, and execution for new stores, renovations, and equipment.
– Manage and update the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), ensuring accuracy in asset details, valuation, depreciation, and lifecycle management.
– Develop strategies to optimize asset utilization and lifecycle management, minimizing depreciation and maximizing asset value.
– Collaborate with finance, operations, real estate, and procurement teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize CAPEX projects.
– Oversee the procurement and setup of assets, ensuring compliance with company policies.
– Conduct regular audits of physical assets to verify FAR data, check for asset condition, and ensure proper tagging and documentation.
– Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposal as per accounting standards.
– Establish guidelines for asset maintenance, replacement, and lifecycle planning.
– Provide regular reports on asset status, valuation, and depreciation to senior management.
– Implement best practices for fixed asset control, tracking, and reporting.
– Ensure all assets are accounted for accurately in the financial statements and comply with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related fields; MBA preferred.
– 10+ years of experience in Capex management, asset control, or finance, preferably in retail or hospitality sectors.
– Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and asset lifecycle management.
– Experience in managing and maintaining a comprehensive Fixed Asset Register (FAR).
– Excellent project management, analytical, and negotiation skills.
– Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and manage multiple projects.
– Strong attention to detail and compliance with financial standards.
