Overview

Location: Powai, Mumbai

We are looking for a Credit Risk professional with strong experience in internal rating models, credit risk governance, and regulatory frameworks to join a leading global financial institution. This is a high-visibility global role that partners with stakeholders across risk, finance, IT, and senior management to strengthen the firm’s credit rating infrastructure and counterparty risk assessment frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop, maintain, and govern credit rating models and frameworks for assessing counterparty risk across sectors and geographies.

– Support model testing, validation, and analysis of overrides to ensure accuracy and compliance.

– Collaborate with global credit officers, risk methodology, finance, and IT teams to enhance internal ratings processes.

– Lead sector forums to propose process improvements and implement enhancements to the ratings infrastructure.

– Contribute to ad-hoc regulatory deliverables, risk concentration analysis, and ESG-related frameworks.

Qualifications:

– Mandatory: Master’s degree in Finance or a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification. (Additional postgraduate or risk certifications (e.g., FRM / CFA) are advantageous.)

Experience:

– 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Credit Risk Analysis / Internal Ratings / Risk Modeling within a banking, financial services, or consulting setup.

Mandatory Skills:

– Proven experience in Credit Risk and Internal Rating Model Development / Validation.

– Strong understanding of Basel II/III frameworks, credit policies, and regulatory compliance.

– Advanced data analysis skills (Excel, Python, or SQL).

– Excellent communication and stakeholder management across global teams.

– Ability to lead projects independently, manage multiple priorities, and present to senior committees.
