Overview
To assist in managing the day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting principles.
Support monthly closings and year-end processes, and contribute to financial reporting for Agri operations in West Africa.
Key Responsibilities
– Accounts Management: Oversee and maintain accurate general ledger and journal entries, ensuring alignment with IFRS/local GAAP.
– Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage payables/receivables cycle, vendor reconciliation, and timely payment/disbursement.
– Banking & Treasury: Liaise with local banks, handle fund transfers, monitor bank reconciliations and liquidity.
– Inventory & Cost Accounting: Coordinate with supply chain for stock accounting, verify landed cost workings, support costing controls.
– Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with local tax laws (VAT, withholding, etc.), assist in internal/external audits.
– MIS & Reporting: Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements; track budgets vs actuals; submit reports to HQ.
– ERP & Process Support: Use ERP systems for real-time entries, suggest improvements in processes and controls.
– Team Coordination: Supervise junior accountants, ensure timely data entry and documentation.
Qualifications & Education
– Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in agri-business or trading sector in Africa.
– Knowledge of IFRS, local West African tax laws, strong in Excel, and experience with ERP (Tally, SAP, or similar).
– Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
– Travelling is involved
– Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CA , ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
– Proficiency in English required; French is a strong advantage.
