Role : Associate Director / Senior Manager – Credit & Underwriting ( SME / MSME / Corporate Lending / Supply Chain Financing ) – NBFC
Location : Delhi
We are a new NBFC focused on empowering Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) through tailored financing solutions, including Supply Chain and Working Capital Financing solutions. As a startup, we are building agile processes and tech-driven operations to scale rapidly while ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction.
Role Overview :
We are seeking a detail-oriented Credit / Risk Head to Lead Underwriting processes, manage teams, develop policies, and ensure consistent risk assessment and loan approval.
Key Responsibilities :
Credit and Underwriting :
– Develop and continuously refine credit risk policies, underwriting guidelines, and approval processes for unsecured rural business loans
– Leverage alternative data sources, behavioural scoring, and cash flow analysis to assess creditworthiness
– Implement robust portfolio monitoring systems to track performance, detect stress early, and take corrective action
– Train and mentor credit officers in SME lending risk assessment techniques
– Implement process controls to minimize operational risks and errors.
Compliance & Risk Management :
– Ensure compliance with RBI, NBFC, and local lending regulations.
– Implement strong KYC/AML processes to prevent fraud.
– Partner with internal audit & compliance teams for periodic checks and risk assessments.
– Maintain accurate and audit-ready loan operation records.
Customer Experience:
– Ensure a seamless loan disbursement experience.
– Act as an escalation point for operational issues.
– Drive initiatives to reduce customer complaints and TAT delays.
Educational Qualification / Work Experience & Skills :
– PG / MBA / CA with 7-14 years of experience in Credit and Underwriting in Supply Chain Finance or B2B Corporate Loans(preferably with NBFCs, Banks, or Fintech).
– Strong knowledge of Business Loans, SME Loans and Unsecured Lending.
– Familiarity with RBI/ NBFC compliance and regulatory guidelines.
– Hands-on experience with loan management systems (LMS) and core banking systems
– Strong analytical, process improvement, and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and build systems from ground zero.
– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
