Business Controls Partner – Trade Surveillance | AVP/ VP
Job Overview:
– We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Controls Partner, First Line of Defence (1LOD) Surveillance, VP to join the dynamic team.

– As a key player in our organization, you will partner with the business and Risk function to identify, assess, and manage risks within the agreed risk appetite.
– Leveraging our risk framework, you will inspire a team of business and customer control partners to achieve their objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
– Act as a strategic partner to the business and Risk function, driving a generative culture of risk awareness.
– Identify and address operational risk issues, recommending practical solutions.
– Strengthen risk ownership within the business, identifying weaknesses and promoting best practices.
– Develop and implement a robust risk governance framework in alignment with the operational risk handbook.
– Support and deliver relevant risk activity to maintain and sustain a control environment certification rating within risk appetite.
– Escalate emerging risks promptly, ensuring timely definition and ownership of action plans.
– Drive risk awareness across the business, supporting the design and implementation of operational risk principles.
– Implement and maintain a governance framework that enables effective decision-making.
– Assist risk owners in identifying and assessing the policy framework.
– Provide coaching and guidance to improve risk understanding and foster a culture of intelligent risk-taking.
– Educate teams on the policy framework and roles and responsibilities framework.
– Promote continuous improvement, increasing efficiency and productivity through leadership, coaching, and development.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
– Strong experience in Policy Framework and risk management principles.
– Solid understanding of operating processes, products, and technologies.
– Exceptional senior stakeholder management and influencing skills.
– A well-developed professional network with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
– Strong problem-solving abilities, with a creative approach to resolving complex issues.
– Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to assess a mid-market mark.
– Ability to navigate conflict resolution with a macro-level perspective.
– Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for assessing risk and control frameworks.
