Overview
Position Overview: The Financial Controller (FC) will be responsible for the financial strategy, management, and oversight of the company’s financial operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. The FC will work closely with the CEO and other executive & management team members to ensure the company’s financial health and growth, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
– Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability objectives.
– Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning processes.
– Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
Financial Management and Reporting:
– Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, tax, and treasury.
– Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
– Manage the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Ind-AS.
Risk Management:
– Identify and manage financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
– Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
– Develop and maintain risk management strategies to safeguard the company’s assets.
Investor Relations:
– Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, analysts, and financial institutions.
– Prepare and present financial information to the board of directors, investors, and other stakeholders.
– Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial entities.
Operational Efficiency:
– Evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
– Oversee the company’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function to support decision-making.
– Collaborate with other departments to drive cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.
Team Leadership and Development:
– Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to build a high-performing finance organization.
– Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth within the finance department.
– Ensure the finance team is aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
– Chartered Accountant / MBA Finance or related field;
– 10-15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years exposure in a senior financial management role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry (preferred but not mandatory)
– In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulations in the pharma sector.
– Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, board members, investors, and other stakeholders.
– Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities.
– Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
