Job Description: Mobilisation & Operations Lead
Purpose Statement:
Our Mobilisation & Operations team is built to lead the setup and long-term success of business operations. This team is entrusted to mobilise processes, establish controls, and take full ownership with every role designed to evolve into ongoing operations management. Our purpose is to enable seamless activation and deliver resilient, high-performing operations that are built to last.
The Mobilisation & Operations Lead is responsible for leading the successful transition of banking operations, processes, or services from current to target states with minimal disruption to business continuity. This role ensures all transition activities are executed in alignment with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence standards. The Lead will manage transitions across the Customer Function (PB, B&PB, C&IB), owning the end-to-end transition strategy, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management.
Following the transition, the leader is expected to assume responsibility for running the BAU (Business-As-Usual) operations.
Must-Have Skills & Competencies:
– End-to-End Banking Operations & Lending Knowledge: Deep, practical understanding of banking processes, with specific expertise in end-to-end lending services and experience in managing complex, large-scale banking operations.
– Transition & Project Management Mastery: Proven expertise (5+ years) in leading complex transition or project management initiatives within the financial services industry, with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.
– Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders, align cross-functional teams, and maintain transparency throughout a project lifecycle.
– Risk & Compliance Acumen: Strong understanding of the banking regulatory environment, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks while ensuring full compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
– Leadership & Proactive Mindset: Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams with a proactive, problem-solving attitude focused on process optimization and continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications:
Experience:
– Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in transition management, program management, or complex project management within the banking or financial services industry.
– Total of 18+ years of professional experience, including the management of large-scale banking operations with complex work types.
– Experience in lending businesses is highly preferred.
– Proven proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence).
Qualifications:
– Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Key Accountabilities:
– End-to-End Transition Leadership: Lead the complete planning and execution of operational transitions, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and success criteria.
– Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across business, technology, and operations to define transition scope, objectives, and deliverables.
– Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive transition plans, including detailed risk assessments, resource allocation, budget management, and communication strategies.
– Execution & Monitoring: Monitor project progress, proactively resolve issues, and ensure the timely delivery of all transition milestones.
– Governance & Compliance: Guarantee all transition activities adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies, with zero regulatory breaches.
– Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-transition reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in future transitions.
– Vendor Management: Manage relationships and performance of any third-party service providers or vendors involved in the transition process.
– BAU Operations Management: Following a successful transition, assume full responsibility for the leadership and performance of the resulting business-as-usual operations.
