Looking for lead analyst role for a leading fund house in Mumbai location.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced and driven Equity Research Analyst to lead our coverage of the Capital Goods sector. Based in Mumbai (Andheri East), the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sector dynamics, strong financial modeling skills, and a proven track record in generating actionable investment ideas. This role offers significant visibility with institutional clients and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Sector & Company Analysis:

– Independently cover and maintain a portfolio of capital goods companies across sub-sectors such as industrial machinery, engineering, EPC, and infrastructure enablers.

– Track industry trends, policy developments (e.g., capex cycles, infrastructure spend), and competitive landscapes.

Financial Modeling & Valuation:

– Build and maintain robust financial models with sensitivity, scenario, and valuation analyses (DCF, comparable company analysis, etc.).

– Analyze company filings, earnings calls, and macroeconomic data to develop investment recommendations.

Research & Insights:

– Publish high-quality, insightful equity research including initiation reports, earnings reviews, thematic deep-dives, and sector updates.

– Formulate and articulate well-structured investment theses backed by solid data and analysis.

Client Engagement:

– Interact with buy-side clients, respond to queries, and support sales and trading teams with timely insights.

– Participate in investor conferences, management access events, and site visits.

Team Collaboration:

– Mentor junior analysts and associates; review and guide their work where applicable.

– Work closely with other sector analysts, economists, and strategists to identify cross-sector trends.

Candidate Profile:

– Education: MBA (Finance), CA, CFA (preferred), or equivalent qualification in finance, economics, or accounting.

– Experience: 8-12 years of relevant experience in equity research (sell-side or buy-side), preferably with direct exposure to the Capital Goods sector.

Skills:

– Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

– Excellent written and verbal communication.

– Proficient in financial software tools such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Excel, and financial databases.

– High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
