About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Equity Research Associate to join our dynamic team. This role is sector-agnostic, with a primary focus on covering companies within the ever-evolving Hardware and Software/IT services landscape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth fundamental analysis, building detailed financial models, and authoring comprehensive research reports to provide actionable investment insights.
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct rigorous fundamental analysis on companies within the Hardware and Software sectors.
– Develop, maintain, and update complex financial models for forecasting, valuation (DCF, Comparable Comps, Precedent Transactions), and scenario analysis.
– Author and publish high-quality, insightful equity research reports, including initiation reports, quarterly updates, and thematic pieces.
– Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to assess their impact on covered companies and the sector at large.
– Interact with company managements, industry experts, and sales & trading teams to gather information and articulate investment theses.
– Proactively respond to internal and external client queries in a timely and professional manner.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Mandatory: B.Tech / BE (any stream).
And one of the following:
MBA (Finance) + CFA Level 1 Cleared
CFA Charterholder (all levels cleared)
Experience: 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in equity research.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
– Proven expertise in financial modeling and company valuation.
– Strong experience in writing and producing equity research reports.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage):
– Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools such as Python, Tableau, or Power BI.
Personal Attributes:
– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
– Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
– A proactive, self-starter attitude with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and manage multiple tasks independently.
– High level of intellectual curiosity and a passion for markets and investing.
Note: Candidates with more than 6 years of relevant equity research experience will not be considered for this position.
