Overview
Job Summary:
– The Finance Controller is a crucial role within the finance department, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of financial operations and reporting for the organization.
– This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial activities while providing strategic guidance to senior management for making informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
– Financial Reporting: o Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP).
– Consolidate financial data from various departments or subsidiaries, ensuring timely. and accurate reporting to management and external stakeholders.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
– Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
– Monitor financial transactions and processes to identify and mitigate any potential risks or discrepancies.
– Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and reviews.
Cash Flow Management:
– Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs and strategic investments.
– Implement cash flow forecasting and analysis to predict potential liquidity challenges and develop appropriate solutions.
– Financial Operations: Supervise and manage the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
– Review and approve financial transactions, invoices, and expense reports.
– Oversee payroll processing and tax compliance.
– Strategic Financial Guidance: o Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights and recommendations that align with the organization’s goals and growth plans.
– Participate in business strategy discussions, mergers and acquisitions, and capital Investment Decisions.
Team Leadership And Development:
– Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement.
– Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance team members’ skills and knowledge.
Candidate Skills & Qualifications:
– Chartered Accountant.
– Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
– Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards.
– Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
– Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
– Strong leadership and team management skills.
– Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
