Global Tax Head – Electric Vehicle (EV) Company – Pune
Description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Strategy & Planning:
– Develop and implement effective tax strategies aligned with business objectives.
– Identify opportunities for tax optimization, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
– Evaluate the impact of new business models, mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring from a tax perspective.
– Advise management on long-term tax planning and policy formulation.
2. Direct Taxation:
– Oversee computation, filing, and payment of corporate income tax, TDS, and advance tax.
– Manage tax assessments, appeals, and litigation with authorities.
– Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory filings.
– Handle transfer pricing compliance and documentation.
3. Indirect Taxation:
– Supervise GST compliance, reconciliations, and filings.
– Evaluate implications of GST on business transactions and ensure compliance with relevant laws. Liaise with indirect tax authorities for audits and assessments.
4. Compliance & Risk Management:
– Ensure full compliance with all applicable tax laws, rules, and regulations.
– Maintain strong internal controls over tax processes and documentation.
– Anticipate and address potential tax exposures and manage disputes.
– Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their implications for the organization.
5. Stakeholder Management:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, Operations) on tax-related matters.
– Engage with external tax consultants, auditors, and legal advisors as necessary.
– Represent the organization before tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
6. Leadership & Team Development:
– Lead and mentor the tax team to build strong technical and compliance capabilities.
– Drive continuous improvement in tax processes through automation and best practices.
– Foster a culture of compliance, ethics, and accountability.
Qualifications and Experience:
– Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification (e.g., CPA, LLB with specialization in Tax).
– Minimum 10 – 12 years of relevant experience in taxation, including leadership roles.
– Deep understanding of Indian Direct & Indirect Tax laws; exposure to international taxation preferred.
