Summary
The Accounting Manager will be part of the global Finance & Accounting (F&A) team. They will be responsible for supervising and developing senior and staff accountants and reviewing related work product; ensuring the general ledger accounts they are assigned responsibility for are reconciled timely and accurately in accordance with global standards and formats, and the underlying transactions make sense from a U.S. GAAP perspective. In addition, they are responsible for producing certain monthly and ad hoc financial reports and providing informative financial analysis. They will also be responsible for consolidations and related intercompany account reconciliations and elimination entries for a global firm. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams, leaders, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
– Oversee the monthly global consolidation process across multiple international entities, ensuring accuracy in intercompany eliminations and adherence to GAAP.
– Review and guide currency translation activities performed by staff and senior accountants, ensuring proper application of foreign exchange rates and compliance with reporting standards.
– Takes full responsibility for project load, while being able to appropriately communicate with supervisors to ensure agreement on direction of the project, status, issues and issue resolution.
– Application of U.S. GAAP knowledge to ensure the proper recording of financial transactions.
– Supervise the preparation of analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts to assess accuracy, completeness, and need for adjustment. Ensure documentation to support the analysis and account reconciliations are up to departmental standards.
– Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, supporting schedules, journal entries and ad hoc reports.
– Create and enhance project structure including development of written procedures and improvements to project documentation. Streamline project processes to improve efficiency, eliminate redundancy, and take advantage of technology, without compromising the integrity of the work.
– Problem-solve accounting issues. Summarize problem, research results, and recommend course of action. Anticipate problems.
– Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
– Enforce compliance of firm policies and procedures.
– Train and develop senior and staff accountants including review of all related work products and timely feedback on results of this review; provide formal feedback via the firm’s performance assessment tool.
– Team with the other global and U.S. Accounting leaders on group administrative issues such as staffing and staff sharing, evaluations, ad hoc projects, etc. and take responsibility for a subset of these administrative projects.
– Software testing related to upgrades and / or new software related to financial systems.
– Interact and team with various F&A personnel and other key personnel throughout the global organization to obtain information to complete responsibilities, on cross-functional initiatives and issues, and in a customer service capacity, and also to ensure open communication and information sharing, coordination on problem and / or issue resolution, and sharing of best practices.
– Special projects as needed.
– Attend professional development and training sessions as necessary.

Skills
– Solid understanding of accounting principles, accrual accounting, and U.S. GAAP standards
– Mastery of how to present information to supervisors and others (account reconciliations, account analyses, etc.) in an easily understandable and digestible way and ensuring these are properly supported and defensible.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Outstanding organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize multiple assignments.
– Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and vlookups) and familiar with other Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access).
– Experience with OneStream consolidation software preferred.
– Adept at learning new software programs.
– Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
– Team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to grow professionally.
– Results-oriented; takes initiative.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
– Willing to work additional hours when needed, and flexibility related to time zone differences in teaming with the U.S. especially around month-end and year-end close.
Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CA or US CPA mandatory
– Must have at least 6 years or more of progressive Accounting or Finance experience in a medium- to large-sized partnership or corporate accounting environment, prior experience in the professional services industry a plus.
– Must have at least 4 years of successful supervisory experience
– Experience with accounting consolidations and intercompany reconciliations preferred.
