Head of FP&A – Job Description
Role Purpose:
– The Head of FP&A will play a pivotal role in driving insights for effective decision-making, working closely with the Managing Director and the executive leadership team.
– This role will focus on building robust financial models, establishing consistent planning and forecasting processes, and enabling data-driven strategic and operational decisions that strengthen Texmo Industries’ long-term growth, profitability, and financial transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Forecasting:
– Lead the 5-year strategic financial planning process along with annual and monthly budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring full alignment with company objectives.
– Collaborate with department heads to set challenging but realistic targets.
– Independently develop complex financial models to support long-term planning, scenario modelling, and M&A activities.
– Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the MD, CFO, and executive leadership team to support decision-making.
Forecasting, Analysis & Performance Management:
– Prepare and update financial forecasts, linking historical and projected performance.
– Conduct variance analysis (FX, price, volume, productivity, inventory changes, CI impact) and explain key drivers clearly.
– Build and maintain sensitivity, scenario, and what-if analyses for decision support.
– Track and report on KPIs, dashboards, and financial walks, identifying improvement opportunities.
– Analyse value stream performance and operational KPIs to make resourcing and efficiency recommendations that improve overall “box score” results.
– Identify cost optimisation, price improvement, scrap reduction, and material efficiency opportunities.
Cash Flow & Capital Planning:
– Walk EBITDA to cash flow, analyse drivers of net debt and working capital, and recommend actions to improve free cash flow.
– Support capital expenditure evaluations (Payback, ROCE, IRR) and target costing initiatives.
– Work with treasury on FX risk management and debt structuring when required.
Business Partnering & Executive Collaboration:
– Act as a key finance partner to MD, CFO, and senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions with clear, actionable insights.
– Simplify and communicate complex financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
– Actively participate in S&OP/SOFP processes to ensure financial plans align with operational capacity.
– Work with operations, sales, HR, and supply chain to drive alignment between financial and operational plans.
Management Reporting & Business Intelligence:
– Own and continuously improve management reporting, dashboards, and performance analytics.
– Leverage tools such as Hyperion, Tagetik, LucaNet, Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms to automate and enhance reporting.
– Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and clarity of reports to facilitate executive decision-making.
Results & Continuous Improvement:
– Provide evidence of measurable results, such as reducing NMNP spend, improving material margins, and driving cost efficiencies.
– Lead initiatives for process simplification, LEAN Finance, and adoption of 80/20 principles.
– Champion implementation of new financial systems, tools, and methodologies.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
– Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (required); CA, CMA, or CFA preferred.
– Experience: Minimum 10 years in finance, with significant experience in FP&A, strategic finance, and business partnering within a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
– Financial Modelling & Forecasting: Advanced Excel skills; ability to build complex financial models independently.
– Planning & Analysis: Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, S&OP/SOFP cycles, variance analysis, and scenario planning.
– ERP & BI Tools: Advanced user of Hyperion, Tagetik, LucaNet, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
– Strategic Finance: Experience in M&A financial analysis, long-term planning, and scenario modelling.
– Business Partnership: Proven track record of influencing executive decisions, presenting to leadership teams, and driving organisational improvements.
– Results Orientation: Demonstrated history of delivering measurable financial impact (cost savings, margin improvements, productivity gains).
– Change Agility: Experience leading system implementations and process transformation.
