Internal Auditor

Department: Internal Audit

Reporting To: Head Internal Audit

Key Responsibilities:

– Collaborate with the internal audit team to conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits across various departments

– Coordinate and work alongside external agencies engaged in internal audit assignments

– Review and evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance

– Identify audit findings and root causes, and recommend practical and effective improvements in internal controls and business processes

– Draft clear, concise internal audit reports and present findings to the Head Internal Audit and senior management

– Monitor and track audit issues and action plans; present monthly updates to management

– Prepare audit work papers with appropriate documentation to support audit conclusions

– Conduct testing and documentation for Internal Financial Controls (IFC), including design testing and operational effectiveness testing using Risk-Control Matrices

– Assist in documenting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in coordination with process owners

– Undertake special assignments or investigations as required by management

– Perform IT-specific audits, ensuring security and compliance with technology systems and data management policies

Competencies:

– Risk Assessment: Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize organizational risks

– Business Acumen: Understanding of core business processes and operational workflows

– Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for reporting and stakeholder interaction

– Spreadsheet Proficiency: Skilled in Excel and other data analysis tools

Qualifications & Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA/CIA/CPA preferred)

– 3-5 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment

– Knowledge of audit standards, financial regulations, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO, SOX)

– Experience in conducting IT audits is an advantage
