Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Investment Banking Associate to join our dynamic team. The associate will play a key role in supporting the execution of M&A transactions, capital raises, and other investment banking services. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Execution:
– Assist in the execution of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and other corporate finance transactions.
– Prepare financial models, valuations (DCF, precedent transaction, comparable companies), and other analytical frameworks.
– Conduct industry and company-specific research to support due diligence and strategic decision-making.
– Prepare marketing materials, including pitch books, presentations, and client reports.
– Support senior bankers in negotiations, deal structuring, and documentation.
Client Interaction & Relationship Management:
– Assist in managing relationships with clients, investors, legal teams, and other advisors.
– Participate in client meetings and presentations, helping to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Financial Analysis & Modelling:
– Develop and update financial models for valuation, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
– Perform comprehensive financial analysis to support transaction structuring and negotiation.
Market & Industry Research:
– Monitor market trends, industry performance, and competitor landscape to inform strategic recommendations.
– Conduct detailed due diligence, gathering data on target companies, industries, and market conditions.
Team Collaboration:
– Work closely with senior bankers and other team members to drive the execution of transactions.
– Assist in mentoring junior analysts and interns, providing guidance and feedback on their work.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CFA is a plus).
Experience:
– 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or related fields, with a focus on transaction execution.
– Strong experience in financial modelling, valuation, and financial statement analysis.
– Knowledge of M&A processes, capital markets, and transaction documentation.
Skills:
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling software.
– Strong understanding of accounting, financial statements, and corporate finance principles.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
– Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
