Who we are?
Kaleidofin Capital Pvt Ltd (KCPL), incorporated on March 19, 2021, is a prominent Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) focused on delivering innovative credit solutions to underserved communities often overlooked by traditional financial institutions. KCPL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kaleidofin Pvt Ltd, operates as part of a larger fintech ecosystem dedicated to providing comprehensive, customer-centric financial services. With a mission to enhance financial inclusion, KCPL specializes in retail lending through partnerships with Business Correspondents (BC), targeting both individual and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) customers.
KCPL received its NBFC certification in 2022, officially authorizing it to conduct lending activities. Since then, the company has expanded its operations to over 437 districts across 12+ states in India, leveraging Kaleidofin’s established presence in these regions. This extensive reach allows KCPL to make a substantial impact in rural and semi-urban regions, effectively bridging the financial services gap for informal and small-scale businesses.
KCPL uses cutting-edge technology and data analytics to create personalized financial plans that align with customer goals. Utilizing the proprietary “ki score” – an advanced supervised machine learning algorithm which helps in ensuring efficient service delivery, affordability, and accessibility by underwriting loans for customers with limited documentary evidence on income.
With robust underwriting and risk management frameworks KCPL has pioneered innovative lending solutions such as small business loan securitizations and co-lending models.
KCPL has built credit book of INR 1.1 billion, primarily focused on informal micro-enterprises, agricultural and allied industries, and loans for women entrepreneurs. This growth has been driven by partnerships with banks, large NBFCs, and a strong network of originators. Additionally, KCPL’s expertise in debt capital markets and structured finance has enabled it to leverage a diverse set of funding sources to support its lending initiatives.
KCPL’s strategic direction is guided by a distinguished board, including three promoter directors: Mr. Puneet Gupta, Mrs. Sucharita Mukherjee, and Mr. Vipul Sekhsaria. What you’ll do?
– You shall be in a team leader role and a part of the senior team at Kaleidofin. This is a challenging opportunity for financial services market professionals to play a pivotal role in Kaleidofin’s journey in achieving its mission to propel the informal banking segment in achieving their financial goals.
– Lead a small and efficient team of credit underwriters to underwrite and decision loans originated by business partners.
– Adhere to agreed TAT on decisioning loans in the queue.
– Develop a deep understanding of each business partners sourcing, collections, credit underwriting parameters, policies and practices to originate and underwrite such loan applications to create a loan book with minimal expected credit losses and optimal rejections.
– Collaborate with the business team and PeX team to validate the credit underwriting related sections of the partner SOP document.
– Help and continuously improve Kaleidofin’s ability to deliver superior underwritten loans to associate lender partners and build a healthy loan book.
– Work with the Product, Operations, Business, PeX teams to create ways to deliver credit faster without compromising on credit quality.
– Monitor the partner wise portfolio on a periodic basis for delinquency monitoring, PDD monitoring, portfolio quality, branch, portfolio and delinquency triggers and implement triggers for stoppage of business, business review, collections review as applicable.
Who you need to be?
– Graduate / Postgraduate / Professional qualification
– Minimum 3-5 years work experience in the financial services sector
– Female candidates preferred.
– Connects in the NBFC sector to keep abreast of latest developments in the sector
– Good understanding of NBFC’s and their business models
– Good understanding retail lending and related processes
– Good understanding of RBI Guidelines related to – lending, third party outsourcing, NBFC’s related guidelines, PSL.
– Should have a good understanding of and prior experience in understanding business. requirements and related risks and draft suitable credit policies and rules for underwriting.
– Should have prior experience in underwriting retail loans of several assets classes which should include but not be restricted to MFI – JLG loans, Unsecured Business Loans, Asset backed loans like home loans, LAP and / or vehicle loans.
– Knowledge of Business Correspondent / Co lending business will be good to have
– Basic understanding of financial reports of financial institutions
The right person should:
– Be able to underwrite any loan / asset class when asked to do so.
– Draft and document rules/underwriting policies to be able to create an underwriting framework for each partner.
– Be an out of the box thinker and have the ability to continuously look for blockers and figure out ways to remove them
– Wear the hats of Risk, Compliance, Operations and Business with ease, understand and take decisions always keeping this balance.
– A leader who is willing to take responsibility for and ownership of the business targets and the team and deliver.
– A collaborator who will be able to work across cross- functional teams within Kaleidofin and with the business partners / their vendors to drive business.
