Management Trainee – Finance & Strategy (CA + MBA Fresher)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chartered Accountant (CA) with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) to join our dynamic team as a Management Trainee.

This unique role is designed for a fresher who combines deep technical financial knowledge with a broad strategic business perspective.

The successful candidate will be a critical player in bridging financial expertise with strategic business decision-making, gaining exposure to various high-impact functions across finance, business planning, and strategy.


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Analysis & Reporting:

– Assist in the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of financial statements (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for management and external stakeholders.

– Conduct detailed financial modelling, variance analysis, and forecasting to support planning and control activities.

– Ensure financial transactions and records comply with statutory regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and internal policies.

– Support the budgeting process by working with cross-functional teams to consolidate data and develop financial targets.

Strategic Planning & Business Insight:

– Apply MBA learning to analyze business performance in the context of market trends, competition, and company strategy.

– Contribute to business case development for new projects, investments, and capital expenditure decisions, including valuation and profitability analysis.

– Prepare presentations and reports to senior management on key strategic initiatives and performance metrics.

– Assist in identifying and evaluating potential operational efficiencies and risk areas across business functions.

Taxation & Compliance:

– Support the direct and indirect tax compliance process, including computation, filing, and assessment-related documentation.

– Assist in statutory, internal, and tax audits by preparing necessary schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation.

– Stay abreast of changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations and assess their impact on the business.


Qualifications & Skills:


Required Qualifications:

– Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountant, passed in the first attempt/ranker is a plus.

– Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance, Strategy, or a related field.

– 1-2 years of post-qualification experience (i.e., Fresher).

– Financial Acumen: Exceptional knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, auditing, and taxation.

– Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand the bigger business picture, analyze market dynamics, and connect financial results to operational drivers.

– Analytical & Problem-Solving: Superior ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and develop practical, data-driven solutions.

– Software Proficiency: Expert in Advanced Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Financial Functions) and proficient in PowerPoint.

– Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial modeling tools is highly desirable.

– Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate complex financial and strategic information to non-finance stakeholders and senior management.

– Leadership & Teamwork: Demonstrated potential for leadership, ability to take initiative, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

– Integrity: High level of ethical conduct and professionalism in handling confidential financial information
