Overview
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management:
– Manage a long/short equity portfolio with a focus on delivering risk-adjusted returns.
– Construct and maintain a balanced portfolio through strategic long and short positions.
– Monitor portfolio performance and adjust positions in response to market developments.
Research & Analysis:
– Conduct in-depth fundamental and quantitative analysis of publicly listed companies across
sectors and geographies.
– Identify catalysts and valuation gaps to inform investment decisions.
– Stay updated on industry trends, economic indicators, and market developments.
Risk Management:
– Implement risk controls to manage sector, factor, and overall portfolio risk.
– Ensure adherence to the funds investment mandate, compliance policies, and regulatory requirements.
– Monitor and limit downside exposure through disciplined position sizing and hedging strategies.
Strategy Development:
– Develop and refine proprietary investment strategies and models to enhance alpha generation.
– Evaluate macro and microeconomic trends to align investment decisions with broader market
conditions.
Collaboration & Communication:
– Work closely with analysts, traders, and other portfolio managers.
– Present investment ideas and performance updates to the investment committee and clients.
– Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and thought leadership.
Qualifications:
– Bachelors degree in Finance, or a related field; CA / CFA preferred.
– Minimum 710 years of experience in equity investing, with at least 5 years managing or co-
managing a long/short equity portfolio.
– Proven track record of alpha generation in long/short equity strategies.
– Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, financial modeling, and equity research.
– Deep understanding of risk-adjusted performance metrics and portfolio construction principles.
– Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
– Proficiency with Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, and portfolio analytics tools.
