Finance Analyst – About the job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting. You will play a key role in providing insightful financial data and analysis to help drive business decisions and improve profitability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
– Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly branch profitability statements for management review. This involves extracting, massaging, and analyzing branch-level data from our systems. You will also discuss these statements with business heads to provide a clear understanding of financial performance.
– Planning & Budgeting: Assist in the annual planning and budgeting process. You will monitor budgeted numbers against actual costs and investigate significant variances to understand and explain performance deviations.
– Forecasting: Develop and maintain quarterly and annual forecasts, including a three-year forecast, to provide a forward-looking view of the company’s financial health.
– Cost Management: Perform detailed cost allocation based on established guidelines. You will also continuously review and refine the allocation assumptions to ensure they are accurate, simple, and easily understood by all stakeholders.
– Performance Analytics: Produce detailed analytics on a branch and product basis to assess the performance of all business heads. This analysis should align with the company’s overall strategic goals.
– Business Insights: Implement and utilize various analytical models to gain deeper insights from financial data. This includes helping to drive future business strategies, such as optimizing collection strategies or identifying potential expansion states.
– Process Improvement: Participate in the automation of financial processes and management information systems (MIS). You will also be responsible for designing and analyzing Opex dashboards using tools like Tableau.
– Metric Development: Assist in developing and standardizing key business metrics to measure and showcase performance across the company.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s/ master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
– Proven experience as a Finance Analyst or in a similar role.
– Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
– Expertise in Excel; knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau is a significant plus.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
– Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
