Job Description:

SGP is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our high-performing and growing team as an Associate. This role involves not only playing a crucial role in SGP’s investment activities but also supporting the growth and success of its existing and future portfolio companies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment as well as to build expertise in investing and portfolio operations, collaborating with talented professionals in the private equity and software industries.

Responsibilities:

1. Industry and Market Research:

– Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes in the software industry.

– Conduct research on emerging technologies, potential investment targets, and industry best practices.

– Provide insights and recommendations to the investment team based on market intelligence.

2. Investment Analysis and Due Diligence:

– Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, market research, and due diligence on potential investment opportunities.

– Develop financial models and perform valuation assessments to support investment decision-making.

– Prepare investment memos, investment committee presentations, and other relevant documentation.

3. Portfolio Management and Value Creation:

– Actively participate in the management and oversight of portfolio companies.

– Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to identify growth opportunities, operational improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.

– Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess portfolio company performance.

– Assist in developing and implementing value creation strategies for portfolio companies, including organic growth initiatives and potential add-on acquisitions.

– Prepare and analyse monthly and annual financial statements of portfolio companies.

– Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

Qualifications

– Top-tier MBA with 2+ years of post-MBA experience in either management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or finance and strategy roles at high growth start-ups.

– Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, including proficiency in Excel and other relevant financial analysis software.

– Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

– Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

– Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

– Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with portfolio company management teams and other stakeholders.
