Key Accountabilities:

– Own and deliver annual testing plan with deep understanding of frameworks and controls.

– Be able to flex working time to adjust to Global stakeholder and team meetings.

– Manage and guide the team though the lifecycle of the reviews in the portfolio.

– Ensure quality and accuracy of control testing by performing quality checks.

– Liaise with stakeholders across the three Lines of Defence to ensure efforts are aligned and complementary.

– Identify and leverage appropriate data sources and analytical techniques to deliver testing using data analytics.

– Extend the support towards implementation of the CCO strategy to drive global consistency and improvements in risk awareness and risk management capability by developing a close and trusted relationship with key stakeholders, wherever required.

– Maintain an independent perspective, challenging as required and setting out quantified control options and risk decision recommendations.

To be successful as a Markets/GMO – Testing Lead, you should have:

– Hands on experience on control testing and execution and delivery of control testing reviews.

– Extensive knowledge of risk and control including relevant tools and techniques.

– Depth of knowledge of key areas of risk, including Front office, products, operations, COO.

– Extensive knowledge and experience in one or more of the following fields: Compliance Testing, Internal Audit/ Controls Assurance/ Controls Testing.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

– This role requires extensive knowledge and working experience in Controls Assurance and Controls Testing.

– Relevant Professional certification (CIA etc.) or equivalent.

– Understanding of Financial Services Industry and its businesses landscape.

– Extensive knowledge of the functional and operational risks for Global Markets and IB process and products.

– Knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques.

Purpose of the role:

To partner with the bank, to provide independent insurance on control processes and advise on improvements to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the banks internal controls framework.

Accountabilities:

– Collaboration across the bank to maintain a satisfactory, robust, and efficient control environment through the execution of ad-hoc assessments and testing on the design and operational effectiveness of the internal controls, aligned to control policies and standards.

– Development of detailed test plans and procedures to identify weaknesses in internal controls and other initiatives aligned to the banks control framework to mitigate any potential risks and issues, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations, potential losses, and reputational impact.

– Communication of key findings and observations to the relevant stakeholders and business units to improve overall control efficiency and provide corrective actions to senior managers. Collaboration with other control professionals to resolve complex issues and ensure consistent testing methodologies across the bank.

– Development of a knowledge centre containing detailed documentation of control assessments, testing on design and operational effectiveness of procedures, findings, and the distribution of material on internal controls to train and upskill colleagues within the bank.
